SG: I've always wanted to spin records. I'd drive my parents crazy listening to loud music in my room growing up. I decided in high school that it was time to learn how to do it right, and I purchased two technics 1200's and eventually the Pioneer CDJ 1000's and really started just practicing for hours.

M: You've been spinning for quite awhile now; what amazing people have you gotten the opportunity to work with?
SG: I enjoyed working with Chris Cox a few years back. I grew up listening to and playing his mixes so it was great working with him. Me and my business partner in New York, Alan Picus did a party with Junior Vasquez two years ago; that was an amazing experience. I've also gotten to work with several reality TV stars and athletes that have co-hosted events I've done.

M: Every time we turn around, you're turning out a dance floor in another area of the world. Where are some of your most favorite places to spin & why?
SG: I've always liked spinning in D.C., because I sort of grew up there. It's where I came out, it's where I made a lot of friends, and I have a special connection with the city. New York is also one of my favorite places to play as well as Pittsburgh and Seattle, both of which are cities that love and appreciate a good night of dance music.

M: What venue & what area of the world would you love to spin that you haven't done yet?
SG: Well, as far as areas of the world, I've always wanted to play in Tokyo. I hear it's an amazing nightlife scene there. Both gay and straight - it's a party town. As far as venues go, I've always wanted to play Rain in Vegas or Dusk in Atlantic City. Both are great venues that would be a change and challenge for me.

M: We also hear that Chicago's 'Grab Magazine' just named you as '#1 DJ of 2009.' First, congratulations! Second, how did it feel to be given such an honor by an area that lives for the gays?!
SG: It was an amazing honor. The gays are the audience that I live for and play for. They've supported me, and I always try to give them what they want. Having a city like Chicago publish an article like that was a great feeling. I'm in negotiations with a venue in Chicago to do a great party so the timing is perfect.

M: Tell me a little about Seth Gold 'the person': Single or taken?
SG: Single. With a schedule like mine, I'll be single until I scale back on DJing. It's ok though. Right now my music is priority number 1, and it's not fair to date someone and have them take a back seat to that.

M: When you're not out spinning music, what do you do in your spare time?
SG: I enjoy jogging and yoga. I also play tennis still sometimes. (I played for Penn State when I went to college).
*****
M: And you have your own underwear line coming out? Tell me about that! Where can the Muzoblog readers purchase them?
SG: Well, Elite Underwear and myself decided to get together and let me design some underwear specifically targeted to my younger crowd. They will be purchased through two different Websites, and I can't say which ones yet because we're still working on the details. Stay Tuned!

M: What artist have you been dying to work with, but have yet to work with?
SG: I am a big fan of Cascada. I've been wanting to work with them - and lead singer Natalie Horler - for a while. She's got a great voice, and I like their music a lot.

SG: Practice, and start out in a smaller venue with regular gigs so you can perfect your style and sound. Trying to jump right into larger spaces is a mistake when you're not ready.

M: What's next for Seth Gold?
SG: I'll be doing New Years Eve in Minneapolis this year. And I have several fun events lined up leading up to New Years Eve. My Website is improved and features a blog, news and calendar of my events. I'll also be working heavily on the underwear line in the near future.
