Q&A: CHAD MANNING 2.0: The Porn Star Opens Up About His Break Up with DAMIAN RIOS, His New Man TOM WOLFE, Loss of His Father, more

Man, a lot can happen in just a few months. Last time I talked with Chad, he was just getting over his issues with Titan and was happy and in love with Damian Rios. But after a nasty breakup - love is definitely not the word Chad thinks of when it comes to his ex. The good news is, Chad's been busy with lots of projects - and he even found himself a new man.
Despite this good luck, it hasn't all been easy for Chad - he sadly lost his father in a tragic car accident - that, coupled with the breakup certainly hasn't made things easy on our Chadman.
Fortunately for us, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes (or maybe Mariah Carey in her 'Butterfly' era, depending how you look at it; perhaps Patti LaBelle in 'New Attitude.' I'd opt for the Mariah. How did I just work in a Mariah reference? And Patti LaBelle? Weird. I digress...), Chad has risen from the ashes and has spread his wings - sporting a new look and a fresh perspective on life. Never one to shy from speaking his mind, Chad has graciously taken the time to open up about everything - from his breakup, to his new man Tom Wolfe to his father and much more - and he sets the record straight about various rumors and much more. Lets get to it...

First, you have a bunch of projects you've been working on - when are they due out, and what can your fans expect?
Chad: Since we last talked I filmed with Chi Ci LaRue. It was pretty cool. The video is 'Taken: To the Lowest Level.' I haven't seen it yet, but I hear it is pretty damn good. After that, I got to work in Steve Cruz's film 'Green Door.' (Click here to watch the 'Green Door' trailer - NSFW!) Now, without a doubt, that was the best film that I have done. I filmed that during my loss of confidence in the industry. It took a year and a half of filming for someone to finally say, "Good job." That was from Steve Cruz. To this day I hold no one in higher regards. Steve pulled me aside and reassured me that people out there really liked me. I needed to shove off the stupid conflict with Titan. I then realized that I had made a positive contribution to his film.
A few days after filming wrapped I went to Steve's blog and saw something pretty amazing. He had taken the time to write some really great things about me. I had announced to the world that I was retiring. I thought it would be a very quiet exit, but it seemed to make headlines. I still don't understand why. But Steve wrote a plea online asking me to stay around. It was that small gesture that made all the difference. I will always be grateful to Steve Cruz for his integrity and personal touch.
I did a shoot with Falcon's Massive Studio. How much fun is John Bruno? It was a great time. Can't wait to do that again. I'm about to shoot my third and fourth scenes with BoundGods.com. Those are always a lot of fun for me. I have some stuff coming up in Ft. Lauderdale soon, as well as a shoot for Tom Bianchi's next book. So staying very busy.

Chad: I woke up. Oh, and he outed my porn career to my family. There are numerous things, but I will not make him look crazy. He does that on his own.

Muzo: Any chance you guys will become friends again?
Chad: I would never put money on it. He is dead to me, and I am not friendly with dead people.

Muzo: The Sword has an interesting article about how you both aired your 'dirty laundry' online via Facebook. Do you stand behind the comments made there? Anything you would've done differently?
Chad: Well, honestly, I think the whole article was silly. I did not air our laundry to anyone. Someone wrote to me on Facebook, and I replied with the word "Psychopath." The Sword ran with that and created a media event that really wasn't. I did not even know about it until someone brought it to my attention. I had even refused to get involved until Damian decided he would weigh in with his last attempt to stay relevant. So I commented and said what needed to be said. If people don't like it, then they shouldn't read it.

Chad: Webster hasn't created those words just yet.

Muzo: And now, you are with porn star Tom Wolfe. How did you guys meet and how is it going?
Chad: Tom and I met during my Massive shoot. He was my scene partner, and it was instant chemistry. We are doing well. Honestly, I can say I never expected to be involved this soon with anyone. But he is different, and we are doing things much differently. When you see me, my smiles are genuine, and that is a result of him. Tom is a breath of fresh air.

Muzo: Who wears the pants?
Chad: When we are together...no one wears anything.
*****
Muzo: Favorite thing about Tom?
Chad: When he tells me how much he cares about me, I know it is real. He respects me, and that is vastly different than what I had before.

Chad: It's hard. Very hard. You have to really appreciate each other. Respect one another. Respect boundaries. And no double standards.
*****
Muzo: And your new look! What inspired the change?
Chad: Well, I felt that this was a new beginning for me. I have been thru so much in such a short time. A friend told me just a few days ago that I looked happy again. I feel happier now that I am away from Damian. Tom coming into my life at this moment has also been a big help. I think the world of him. Plus, I have been busting my ass in the gym and working to just be a little bigger. I think it is paying off.

Muzo: Also, I'm really, really sorry to hear about your father's passing, and I'm sure your fans also share my feelings in extending our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. How are you doing?
Chad: I take it day by day. I had just finished 'Green Door' the day before, when I got a call from my sister saying my dad had been killed in a horrible car accident. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I had been so busy with filming that I had not realized that my dad had left me a voicemail just two days before he died. I never got to return that call. That will live with me forever. But from that death I gained strength in myself. That is how I showed Damian the door.
I think about my dad everyday. For a while, I was having nightmares about his accident. I never saw it, and I could never bring myself to see his car, but it would come to me in my dreams. Those have passed, and now I am more at peace with his death. I will never get over it. He was my dad. He was on his way to his office and never made it. I enjoy life much more now. I enjoy the people in my life much more now. I wish I could make that call to him, but it is just something that will have to wait. I kept his voicemail on my phone, so I have him everyday. I also am pretty sure my dad would love Tom. And that means I have done something right.

Chad: I talk to people a lot more. I am not as closed off as I once was. Staying active is a great tool. And sex with Tom is amazing.
*****
Muzo: Since the last time we talked, and all you have been through - how has your perspective on life changed?
Chad: I don't take things for granted anymore. I have more self-esteem. Every day is a challenge, but I find the good in it and run with that. So much negativity has left my life since my last relationship ended. I won't compromise anymore. I have backed down from some things because it benefited me to do so, but I will never do that again. I understand that tomorrow is not a promise, so I no longer worry about the opinions of other who don't matter anyway.
*****
Muzo: And to your critics who say you wear your heart on your sleeve, what words do you have for them?
Chad: I could care less what they think or say. Take on a major studio, live in a disastrous relationship, lose your father in a car accident, fight off rumors, all in a 6 month period and tell me if you don't wear your heart on your sleeve. I love being in this industry. I really do. But my critics will always be my critics no matter what I do. How many of them will have something to say about this interview...most likely all of them. And hey, that is their prerogative. But it's hard to deny that I have a sizable fanbase, and those are the people that I do this for, not the critics.
*****
Muzo: I commend you, personally, for your openness and honesty. I think it's hugely admirable. You know I'm a fan, but given all that you've been going through lately, you seem to be handling it in stride, so kudos to you. Now, with that ass kissing aside, can I still be a fluffer for your next flick? Thankssomuch.
Chad: Thank you for noticing. I may not be the nicest guy everyday, and I realize that my public persona has garnered a few critics, but I am just who I am. My fans seem to like me, and that is what keeps me going. All in all, I am happy now. I'm healing, and Tom has come into my life. I'm content. And fyi...you can be my fluffer anytime.
