Superstar DJs THE PERRY TWINS Talk 'Bad Boy,' ft. NIKI HARRIS, Their Ideal Date Night, What It Takes to Get Naked with Them, more
Doug and Derek Perry, aka The Perry Twins, knew what they were getting into when agreeing to do a Muzo interview: Although I'm still quite impressed at how they handled the 'Top or Bottom?' question! Alas, the L.A.-based good boys still braved the Muzo waters anyway, gotta love 'em!
More than just pretty faces and hot bods (not just their pics, but if you've seen them in real life, you know I ain't lyin'...I remember one night at Here in WeHo I was just entranced watching them dancing at the decks, lawd. I digress...), these supersexy spinmasters have burst on the scene in a big way.
Working with some of the biggest names in the Biz, they call Kristine W. friend, you can hardly get through a week here in town without hearing them at one of L.A.'s hottest events, including anything Jeffrey Sanker, and they even jammed up the Billboard charts with last summer's ubiquitous floor-packer 'Activate My Body,' featuring the supersexy Jania.

The bros also hold a special spot for me, since they were gracious enough to DJ the very first MUZOPHILE Club Night at Rage in Western Hollywood.
Now, Doug and Derek were kind enough to take the time to talk up everything from their latest work, upcoming appearances at the White Party and future projects to what it takes to get naked with them, under-the-butt nut huts (that one may require some thought!), silly willies and much more.
Oh...and yes, they finally spill the beans on which Twin got some play at the MUZO Club Night with, well, I'll give you a hint...you can see this lucky dude always wearing a MUZOPHILE shirt, he doesn't like wearing pants, has a fuzzy chest...and wears a promise ring? Read on...

Muzo: We're just a few short days away from the release of your next single 'Bad, Bad Boy,' featuring Niki Harris, due out March 21. You know I'm a huge fan, what can we expect?
The Twins: The LA single release party is going to be at Here Lounge in West Hollywood, and we are totally excited to be working with Jeffrey Sanker, Paul Nicholls, Chris Harris, StraightOut Media & Marketing, Media Giants and Quinn Coleman Productions to put on a fun event for everyone. We will be DJ'ing, and Niki will be there to introduce the track to everyone. We better see you there!

The Twins: Going back to 1996 when we first fell in love with Kristine and her music, it's crazy to think we just remixed one of her tracks! We have loved all her singles and still play them when we DJ, so when we approached 'Never,' we wanted to definitely feature her voice and try to build around her beautiful voice something that we haven't heard in her mixes before.
After talking to her about the song, we tried to mix it up a little while focusing on the vocal and produce something that we would want to dance to out on the floor. Right when we were getting ready to deliver her the mix, we had a major computer problem and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get it fixed in time. To go from that low to the high of hearing the positive reaction she had after hearing our mix was a total roller coaster of a day, but totally worth it! We were just so honored to be asked to do a mix for her and we are currently remixing a new single for her.

The Twins: Jania is a beautiful person both inside and out. She is so talented! Do you want her digits?

Muzo: Doug or Derek: Who wears the pants?
The Twins: It goes back and forth. Sometimes Doug, sometimes Derek. We're twins, so sometimes we share the same pants.

Muzo: All twins have done it - what's the best practical joke you've pulled on someone by pretending to be the otha brutha?
The Twins: Not so much a practical joke, but one time we were being cast for a movie and they needed us both to go in for costume fittings. But, I (Derek) was out of the country so Doug had to go in for both of us on two separate days. They were being really particular and wouldn't let just Doug go in for the fitting.
So, the first day, Doug went in with his glasses and with a five o'clock shadow. The second day, he went in as me, shaved his beard and acted a little differently. He got so nervous about it and thought they were going to fire us if they found out the truth. The worst part was that it was a sci-fi type movie and we had the skin tight costumes and the under garment was an under-the-butt nut hut. So, I basically had to wear my brother's G-string. That's a little too close.

The Twins: The first time we met Niki, she surprised me a little. I knew she would be fun after seeing her singing in Madonna's tours. But, I didn't realize how much of a riot she would be. She cracks us up. Even when she is goofing on us, you can't help but laugh. Working with Gioia Bruno has been a fun experience, too. She has so much energy and really is fun to be around. After being a fan of Expose for so many years, it was wild to get in the studio with her.

Muzo: What really gets you going when you spin?
The Twins: When the party people are dancing like a maniac. Like a maniac on the floor. Dancing like they've never danced before. Sorry, 'Flashdance' flashback.
When people are into the music and having a good time, that's what really get's us going. Throw in a couple Shirley Temples and watch out! We really try to play to the crowd and when they are dancing that get's us dancing more.

The Twins: We had a blast DJ'ing your event! Thanks for having us. You definitely know how to put on a fun night! As far as the MuzoBear goes, doesn't he wear a promise ring? He doesn't wear pants, so the ring protects his virtuous ways.

Muzo: What will you be doing in five years?
The Twins: Hopefully, making more music, DJ'ing on the first intergalactic party space shuttle and celebrating MuzoBear's removal of his promise ring.

Muzo: Do you believe in gay marriage?
The Twins: We believe in Santa Claus, we "Believe in life after love" and yes, we believe in gay marriage. Everyone has the right to be happy and be with the person they love. It's not right for others to take this away from so many people. It's not right and it's not ok.

Muzo: What's a guy gotta do to get naked with you?
The Twins: Go to Jeffrey Sanker's Saturday Pool Party at White Party. We'll be DJ'ing the event and it's ultra hot Palm Springs. So, the less clothes the better, right?

The Twins: Not be silly and put protection on his willy.

Muzo: What's your favorite part of your body?
The Twins: I wish I had my brother's teeth. I think they are perfect, just like him.

The Twins: Both the top and bottom sets of his teeth are pretty nice. I think he uses Crest White Strips!

The Twins: Going to a theme park!

The Twins: We are really excited to be DJ'ing at White Party! You can expect a hot performance of "Bad, Bad Boy." Niki is going to sing the roof off the place! Well, actually, it's outside. But, if there was a roof, it would be gone by the time she hits the bridge of the track.

Muzo: What advice would you give to young guys who want to get into the industry?
The Twins: I would say talk to and learn from as many people as possible. You can learn something from anyone and be as nice and respectful as possible. We are constantly learning new things. We have so much to learn, but it's an adventure.
With all the online networking Websites, you can promote and connect with people like never before. Lastly, try and surround yourself with hard-working, honest people that also have your best interest in mind. Oh, one more thing... have fun!

The Twins: After the release of our new single, 'Bad, Bad Boy,' we will be promoting it throughout the summer at events around the country, and we will be doing a video for the single, as well as remixing some other songs and working on more original material.
