JESSICA SIMPSON Album 'Do You Know' Sells 65,000 Copies
The results are in: I almost feel kinda bad for her.
Simpson's first country album, "Do You Know" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, selling 65,000 copies.
Her last album, "A Public Affair," debuted and peaked at No. 5 in 2006 with 101,000. It ended up selling 300,000 copies total, far short of the 2.9 million total for her previous album.
The good news for Simpson is that despite meager album sales, she did debut atop the Country charts - must be a slow sales week there. And, she did outsell another high-profile debut this week. LL Cool J's "Exit 13," which opened at no. 9, sold 44,000 copies. Neither ccame close in sales to this week's Hot 100 #1 - Metallica. Their new album 'Death Magnetic' topped the chart with 490,000 in sales.
