You know Jim Verraros from season one of 'American Idol' and his starring roles in the feature films 'Eating Out' and its sequel 'Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds,' but now you can really get to know the singer-actor and all around hottie, who's new album 'Do Not Disturb' comes out in September. Jim opens up about what he likes in a guy, his celebrity crush, loud sex, 'bathroom shower Webcam,' shares his advice for 'Idol' hopefuls and much more. And say hey to Muzo and Jim Verraros on MySpace.

Get the MUZOPHILE Q&A with Jim Verraros:

Muzo: Your new album, 'Do Not Disturb,' is coming out in September. What can your fans expect?
Jim: They can expect a high energy, up-tempo record that's a lot more focused than my first, 'Rollercoaster.' I'm inspired by a lot of artists like George Michael and Prince, and you'll definitely hear influences of them on the tracks. I just wanted to let go of the sentimental shit and put out an album that the fans will dance to or love to work out to.

Muzo: How did your experience on 'American Idol' shape things up for your career?
Jim: Being on 'American Idol' gave me the exposure I needed to continue on in the industry. It would've taken me years to accomplish what I have in months. I think if people are looking to become an actor or recording artist, an education isn't something that will necessarily help that. It's an industry where you have to throw yourself completely into and see if something sticks. You also want to be very careful about who you surround yourself with; this is where the 'secret' comes in handy. Put out positive vibrations, and you'll get the same in return. I truly believe in that.

Muzo: What advice would you give to future 'Idol' hopefuls?
Jim: BE YOURSELF. Screw what you've seen on past seasons. Stay true to your heart, and your instincts. If you are your authentic self, the judges and America will see that, too, and root for you. There's nothing worse than a copycat of something that already exists. That's never been what 'Idol's' about; it's about finding someone unique who's willing to work and grow and hone their talent. It's about progression and growth. So, take risks and break the rules, it'll be worth it in the long run.

Muzo: Out of all the contestants on 'Idol,' have you formed close bonds with anyone?
Jim: I was the comic relief on the show, always cracking jokes and not taking things too seriously, and I think that's what the contestants felt drawn towards. I was never about the drama or negativity; I just wanted to make sure people were laughing and having a good time. In the end, I was pretty close with everyone, but EJay Day and AJ Gil were the two that I considered closest to me, personally, and we still continue to talk today.

Muzo: Aside from the recording career, you also have a few films on the horizon. Will we see a new side of Jim?
Jim: Well, I hear that they're writing 'Eating Out 3,' so you never know with that one. I'd like to come back and reprise my role of Kyle, but we'll see what happens. In the fall of this year, I'm shooting a film with Peter Paige and Thea Gill, both actors from 'Queer As Folk,' so I'm pretty excited to be working with them. As far as seeing a different side, I try to take on roles that are different from the last, so I hope you'll be seeing some different sides of Jim.

Muzo: Did you enjoy the full-frontal scenes in your movie, 'Eating Out' as much as we did?
Jim: I really didn't think too much about the full-frontal scenes. I was so focused on myself and delivering a great performance that, honestly, it became a non-issue. Those scenes were pretty much there to shock people and give them a little gratuitous nudity, but I didn't salivate or anything.

Muzo: What's your idea of a great date night?
Jim: The perfect date changes depending on my mood. Sometimes, I'm in the mood to do something low-key like stay at home, order some great Italian or Chinese food and have some red wine and make it a Blockbuster night. Other times, I'll totally be up for hitting a lounge or club and having a cocktail or nine. Just really depends. I could go either way.

Muzo: Complete the sentence: 'Deep down inside, I'm secretly in love with Muzo because...'
Jim: ...he's a down-to-earth guy who comes off as really genuine. And he's cute.

Muzo: Do you have a personal mantra? If so, what is it?
Jim: 'Live the life you've always dreamed.' It reminds me that I can't make excuses for myself if I'm not where I want to be. The only person in my way of success is myself, so I have to keep reminding myself of that. I'm the only person who knows what I want in the end, so I need to make it happen all on my own.

Muzo: What are your thoughts on relationships? Will you ever marry?
Jim: Yeah, I'm all about the committed long-term relationship, so I will definitely be getting married when it's right. The thought of having someone to come home to that will always love you is so appealing and I think, in the end, something I've always wanted.

Muzo: If I were to look at your iPod, what songs would show up under 'most frequently played'?
Jim: Would it be weird if I said I listened to my own music sometimes? Ha! Hmmm, let me check my recent playlist: Sam Sparro's 'Black and Gold,' Jennifer Hudson's 'Spotlight,' Kelly Clarkson's 'Sober,' Rihanna's 'Take A Bow,' Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love,' Britney Spears' entire 'Blackout' album and George Michael's 'Faith' album.

Muzo: Complete the sentence: 'When having sex, I like...'
Jim: ...it loud

Muzo: When on a date, the guy should...
Jim: ...make me laugh out loud.

Muzo: How has your MySpace page affected your career?
Jim: It's allowed me to stay connected with the people that really give a shit. It's so nice to always hear their opinions and thoughts on my blogs or music, because it's them that I'm doing this for in the end. I want to make myself happy, but I want to give them quality efforts, too, because they're the ones reaching into their wallets and supporting me. Of course, there are always times when I get really down on myself, and there will always be an amazing message written to me about how I've made a difference in their lives. That is the best thing I could ever ask for.

Muzo: Who's your celebrity crush - and why?
Jim: Hmmm. Celebrity crush, huh? I'd have to say Robert Gant. I love the way he comes off in interviews, always intelligent and put-together; and I've always had a thing for older guys.

Muzo: Sticky or sweet?
Jim: Sticky.

Muzo: Your favorite personal vice?
Jim: I'm obsessed with cleaning. I always pick up after myself, even if I'm at a party. Usually, if I go to a party, I'll be the one helping out with the dishes afterwards.

Muzo: Your least-favorite personal vice?
Jim: I'm a smoker. I know, it's bad.

Muzo: What do you look for in another guy?
Jim: Hygiene. Personality. Loyalty. Sense of Humor. Someone who knows how to let go and be a complete dumb-ass, and knows when to hold it together. Someone authentic.

Muzo: Where can your fans see you next?
Jim: Well, if you log onto www.jimverraros.com every Friday night at midnight, I'll have my bathroom shower Webcam on, which might be kind of fun for some people. I take Discover, American Express and Visa. Just FYI.
